A Summer Full of Music!

Wow, what a summer it has been! As we all likely experienced, last summer we were home-bound due to COVID. After both my husband and I received our vaccinations, I guess we decided to make up for lost time, and we've had a whirlwind summer of music with a lot of amazing and grateful musicians and listeners alike. I thought I'd share some of the concerts/events/bands in case anyone is up for discovering new music.

First, we attended several shows at the Northlands Swanzey, NH venue (basically in a large field with roped off pods - amazing fun and beautiful sunsets!). We've attended shows by Twiddle, Goose, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong and Umphrey's McGee.

My husband's favorite of that group is Pigeons, mine is currently Goose - check out their set from the Peach Music Festival in 2019 (we are in that crowd somewhere!) where we first discovered them.

We also went to the Peach Music Festival in Scranton, PA again. We had tickets for 2020, which was cancelled, and were thrilled to go over the 4th weekend. Five days of music and camping with super friendly and appreciative folks, a water park, and three stages of music. Just wow! Too many bands to mention, but highlights were String Cheese Incident (one of my favorites), Oysterhead (Trey from Phish, Primus bassist Les Claypool and Police drummer Stewart Copeland), and a late night set with Turkuaz doing an entire set of Talking Heads. See the rest of the artists here.

We have a few more shows to go this year, but this discussion wouldn't be complete without mentioning that my band Sage and the Tumbleweeds had a great gig at a local venue this past month. We were well received and had a lot of fun. The crowd was up and moving and we've been invited to play again on Thursday September 2nd, 5-8. Yay, can't wait!
